On Taste

On Taste is a project which revolves around the idea of the contemporary chaotic evolution of fashion individualism through the concept of “street style”.
This term focuses on the style and taste of people in the streets; regardless of any character of identification. In this sense, it was possible to analyze the death of what is considered either normal or abnormal, and also the fall of trends and subcultures in favour of stylistic selfishness.

In practical terms, the project has been divided into different stages.
Firstly, I walked around and filmed people in the streets, thereafter I divided all the videos made in singular frames, then I derived the frames that pictured the right subject for the project, lastly, I rearranged all the images into a 4-minute documentary.

Fashion

Fashion and portrait photography are extremely interesting topics, that are very dear to me, they offer the chance to create a story, to manipulate the environment away from reality.

Much like cinema, abstraction becomes a phenomenal tool to improvise a scenario and depict characters. Taking inspiration from great photographers, such as Helmut Newton, Paolo Roversi, Jurgen Teller and many others i was able to create my own style.

Documenting the Landscape

Aside from fashion, my passion for photography extends also to the idea of documenting the landscape. This process brings together the elements that compose a specific panorama, therefore through the investigation of the habitat, it is possible to portray the immobility of the urban architecture.

The focus is to present the human presence through the industries, nature and the decadence of what we have left behind.
